Some restorations replace parts. This one re-engineered the entire vehicle.
This 1969 Chevrolet C10 Suburban has undergone a comprehensive frame-off restoration and restomod build with one objective: preserve the timeless appearance of Chevrolet’s iconic Carryall while delivering the reliability, drivability and refinement of a modern performance vehicle.
The body was stripped to bare steel before receiving extensive sheet-metal work and a Glasurit paint finish. The chassis and suspension components were powder coated, virtually every mechanical component was renewed or upgraded, and a professionally built LS-based drivetrain transforms the driving experience.
Power comes from a custom-built LS1 V8 featuring LS6 cylinder heads, an LS2 camshaft, LS3 exhaust manifolds, an LS6 intake manifold, an upgraded oiling system and a custom aluminium cold-air intake. Engine management is handled by a GM Gen III 28X ECU with bespoke calibration. Power is delivered through a professionally built 4L75 four-speed overdrive automatic transmission.
The drivetrain is complemented by a stainless-steel TIG-welded dual exhaust system with Magnaflow components, custom fuel and brake lines, an aluminium radiator with dual electric fans, transmission cooler, upgraded braking system with vented power discs, Borgeson power steering and completely renewed suspension and steering components.
Inside, the Suburban retains its classic character while benefiting from modern functionality including Dakota Digital instrumentation, a custom interior with folding rear bench, new insulation throughout, renewed controls, carpets and trim, and numerous restored or replaced original components.
Every effort was made to build a vehicle that can confidently be driven rather than merely displayed. The result is a highly refined Restomod that combines classic Chevrolet styling with modern engineering, reliability and long-distance usability.
